ToplitPrivacy Policy
This page explains how the Toplit app (including the Mac app, the iPhone app and their widgets; the "App") handles your information. If this English version differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
In short
- The App never sends your tasks or personal information to our servers. We cannot see your data.
- No accounts, no ads, no tracking and no analytics tools.
- Your data is stored on your devices and in your own iCloud.
- Integrations with Todoist and Apple Reminders run only if you turn them on.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect your personal information through the App. The App has no servers operated by us, and the contents of your tasks, routines, projects and settings are never sent to us.
2. Information stored on your devices and in iCloud
The tasks, routines, projects and settings you create are stored on your device.
If you are signed in to iCloud, this information is also stored in the private area of your iCloud account (the CloudKit private database) so that it can sync between your Mac and iPhone using the same Apple ID. This area is managed by Apple, and we cannot see its contents. Apple's Privacy Policy applies to data in iCloud.
Widgets on your Home Screen or desktop only read and display data stored on the same device.
3. Integrations with other services (optional)
Todoist
Only when you connect Todoist in Settings, the App communicates directly with Todoist's servers (api.todoist.com) to import tasks and projects and to sync completions, edits, additions and (if you choose) deletions.
- The Todoist API token used for the connection is stored in the Keychain on that device and is never sent to us.
- Doist Inc.'s Privacy Policy applies to your data in Todoist.
- You can stop the integration at any time with "Disconnect" in Settings.
Apple Reminders
Only when you start the Reminders integration in Settings and grant access, the App reads and writes reminders on your device. The contents of your reminders are never sent to us. You can revoke access at any time in your device's settings (Privacy & Security → Reminders).
4. Crash reports
If you have turned on "Share with App Developers" in your device's settings (Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), crash reports and usage statistics may be delivered to us through Apple. They are anonymized by Apple and do not include information that identifies you or the contents of your tasks. We use them only to fix bugs.
5. Deleting your data
- You can delete tasks, routines and projects in the App at any time.
- Deleting the App from a device deletes the data stored on that device.
- You can delete the data stored in iCloud from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on iPhone (System Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage on Mac) by choosing "Toplit".
6. Information you send us
If you contact us by email, we use your email address and message only to reply and to investigate problems. We do not share them with third parties except as required by law.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App gains new features. When we do, we will update this page and its effective date.
